Ramelius Posts 48,839oz September Quarter as Wet Weather Delays Haulage, Cash Climbs to $768 Million

Ramelius Resources has opened the September quarter reporting season for ASX gold producers with a softer production number but a much stronger balance sheet. The company told the ASX it produced 48,839 ounces of gold in the quarter, while holding that it remains on track for full-year guidance.

Wet weather the culprit

Ramelius said output was marginally affected by wet weather in September, which disrupted haulage of ore from the Penny mine to the Mt Magnet mill. Haulage has since resumed, and management expects the timing impact will not change the outcome for the year. A stockpile of 27,680 tonnes at 4.78 grams per tonne, holding about 4,254 ounces, was sitting at Penny at quarter end, which supports the view that some of the missing ounces are delayed rather than lost.

Cash pile keeps growing

The more striking number is the balance sheet. Cash and bullion reached A$768.0 million, up from A$649.6 million at 30 June 2026, an increase of roughly A$118 million in three months. That cushion gives the miner options in a sector where deal chatter is loud. What it means for ASX gold investors

Ramelius guided to FY27 production of 205,000 to 225,000 ounces and says it is on track. A full Quarterly Activities Report is due later this month and should reveal all-in sustaining costs, which will be the key test of whether margins held up after a wet and uneven quarter. Investors will also watch whether the large cash balance turns into acquisitions, buybacks or higher dividends, particularly with asset sales being floated among larger producers after the recent Gold Fields and Northern Star standoff.
